My first Blog on 'Hussein Chalayan'

On my taster day at London Road College, we had a task set. this was to look and research a fashion designer that we had ever heard of and do a little review on them. I found an artist called 'Hussein Chalayan' he is a fashion designer who makes clothes out of everyday items. for example; he made a long skirt out of a coffee table.
Some of the other garments that he made were dresses made out of seat cover and things that you wouldn't usually wear. The garments which he made were very 'out there' and sometimes quite random. Hussein loved flight and he moved around a lot as a child. So he came up with the idea of taking everything with him on a journey. He changed things into clothing so that he could take everything with him.
Here is the skirt made from the coffee table. I love this idea and I think that things like this could catch on in time if we gave them a chance.
